The CSIM Dragons will host Hunter College HS this Tuesday, 1/18 at 5:00PM in the Dragons Den! This is the first playoff competition hosted in our school in its history. The CSIM Dragons looked sharp yesterday at the annual AP Randolph Tournament hosted by Beat The Streets. Sher Mohammed (152) & Ben Wasserman (215) took home 1st place gold, while Tyler Graziano (112), Eduardo Ramirez (103) placed 3rd. In the tournaments first ever all girls-division, which had 31 female wrestlers, Michelle Cabrera earned her first victory by pin, in route to a 4th place medal. Also placing was Mohammed Mousa (5th, 119), Ian Urcinoli (6th, 160), Stephen Urcinoli (6th, 171), and James McAlarney (5th, 285). 8-0 Dragons ready for weekend tournaments 01/10/2011
The Dragons pulled out a 45-42 come from behind victory over Springfield Gardens. Bryce Cammarata earned the team a 6pt pin in the 130lb weight class to seal the victory. Sher Mohammed (152), Ian Urciniloi (160), and Mohammed Mousa (125) also earned big wins, while Chris Cordero (119) had the days fastest pin. The Dragons get ready to compete in Saturdays Msgr. members of the Dragons Wrestling team fought off the snow, and made it into the Manhattan Training Center for the 2nd annual Beat The Streets Winter Intensive Camp. BTS brought in Mike Clayton of Stevens, Royce Alger of Iowa, and Gregg Strobel of Lehigh for our annual Winter Intensive Wrestling Camp. Check out he videos below. The camp will resume Tuesday, 12/28 after being snowed out on Monday. The CSIM Dragons will attend the 11:30am-1pm session. For more information on the camp & Beat The Streets - Click Here Amid a stacked field, the CSIM Dragons finished in 6th place amongst 10 teams in just their first year as a varsity squad. Ben Wasserman grabbed a 1st place finish (215), and James Mcalarney took 2nd (285). Eduardo Ramirez (103) and Tyler Graziano (112) finished 4th. Pins by Tyler Graziano (112), Mohammed Mousa (119, 40 seconds), Trystan Gangi (125) and Sher Mohammed (152, 53 seconds) started the Dragons off in the right direction against Aviation HS in Long Island City, Queens. The Urcinoli brothers (160 & 171) added wins as well as Hector Torres (189) who won by fall in 1:13. |
