Dragons have huge December weekend! 12/19/2011
CSIM Dragons had an eventful weekend. The Dragons posted dual meet wins over Susan Wagner and Port Richmond HS on Friday night, and hosted a clinic with Stevens Institute Coach Mike Clayton on Saturday. On Sunday, the CSIM Dragons took 2nd place in team standings in the 2011 Pt. Richmond Holiday Tournament. Earning places were: - Ben Wasserman, 1st - 195lbs - Sher Mohammad, 1st - 160lbs - Mohammed Mousa, 2nd - 138lbs - Saul Eskow, 2nd - 195 lbs - Mohadi Mousa, 3rd - 106 lbs - Tyler Graziano, 3rd - 113lbs - Steven Urcinoli, 3rd - 170lbs -Johnny Francisco(120), Bryce Camarrata(126), Hector Torres(152), & Ian Urcinoli(160) finished in 4th place. Our CSIM Dragons are busy with a full weekend of wrestling! Our schedule is as follows: Friday, 12/2 - Tri Meet 1 @ Curtis HS - 4:30pm vs Curtis, 5:30pm vs New Dorp Saturday, 12/3 - Non League Quad Meet - 3:30 pm vs Beacon HS, 4:30 PM vs Port Richmond, 5:30 vs Lincoln HS Sunday, 12/4 - Charles Glass Memorial Tournament - Novice - 7:30am - Port Richmond HS CSIM Dragon Athletics will transform our cafeteria into an Italian restaurant on November 30th at 6 p.m. for its 1st Annual Macaroni Fundraiser Dinner. Ticket prices are $10 per adult and $5 for kids under 12. Ticket price includes salad, macaroni & meatballs, bread, dessert and one beverage ticket. Additional drinks, desserts, coffee and tea will be available for a donation of $1. Tickets are available for purchase by returning the attachment below to coach Miano, and can be purchased at the door. PARENTS WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Sophomore Ben Wasserman traveled to Syracuse, NY with a team of 15 NYC Wrestlers from Beat The Streets to compete in a series of three tournaments, as part of the Mohawk Valley Wrestling Festival. Ben continues his successful season, with a 1st & 2nd place finish in the first two Freestyle Tournaments. Today, Ben will compete in the Greco portion of the weekend. Good luck Wasserman. CSIM Dragons take home 8 medals and 6 city championship qualifiers today at the NYC PSAL B Division Individual Championships. In the medal rounds, the Dragons grabbed 3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. Medal Round Results: 1st Place - Mohammed Mousa (119), Sher Mohammad (152), & Ben Wasserman (215). 2nd Place - Michelle Cabrera (96), Bryce Cammarata (125), & Ian Urcinoli (160) 3rd Place - Trystan Gangi (119) & James MaCalareny (285) 4th Place - Zeke Ephraim (135) & Hector Torres (189) CSIM Dragons defeat last years division rival, Forest Hills HS from Queens, 55-31 to capture the 2010-2011 3rd place title in the PSAL Dual Meet Championships. The Dragons got off to a strong start behind wins at 130lb by Chris Cordero (1:42) and 135lb Zeke Ephraim (11-6). After falling behind 12-9 in team score, 152lb. Sher Mohammad (2:20) & 160lb. Ian Urcinoli (2:15) put the Dragons back on top 21-12 with wins by fall. Forest Hills regained a 24-21 advantage until 215 lb. Ben Wasserman added a fall (1:05), but the lead would not last long. Down 33-27, The Dragons got consecutive 6pt. wins by 103lb Eduardo Ramirez (2:43), 112lb Tyler Graziano (forf.) and 119lb Mohammed Mousa (1:05) to seal the deal.
